PROGRAM FEATURES

Customised Learning

CUSTOMISED LEARNING

When your child first join us, a diagnostic test will be given to him/her. This is to help us identify which are the concepts your child has yet to master.

A personalised bridging programme will then be given to your child based on the diagnostic test result.

Systematic Program

SYSTEMATIC PROGRAMME

In every new topic, we will always teach the fundamentals first before we touch on the heuristics concepts.

For the heuristics part, we arrange the concepts in ascending level of complexity to ensure that your child learns them in a progressive manner.

Thought Provoking

THOUGHT PROVOKING

Math is not about mindlessly memorising methods but rather about forming new ways to see the problems.

In Math Investigator, we will teach your child :

1) How and When to apply a concept or methodology.

2) How to draw conclusion from the clues given in the question.

3) How to identify the next critical step.

Math Investigator Program

Memory-based Learning

  • A specific method is being taught to attempt each question. Curriculum is based on memorising methodologies or questions that will come out for exam.

  • As a result, your child has to learn an unnecessary amount of methodologies.

Steep Learning Curve

  • Students are not given the opportunities to learn the basic concepts needed to cope with advanced concepts.

  • Some tutors require students to attempt questions on their own first before going through with them. However, difficult questions require step-by-step teaching approaches. This may consequently discourage a child.

Question-focused

  • Questions used to teach a particular concept sometimes contain more than 1 thought process.

Process-based Learning

  • Math facts, logics and techniques are being explained such that students are able to understand how to apply various techniques to various question types.

  • Students will be taught how to identify question types. This will hence hone their identification skills and analytical skills to correctly apply approaches and techniques.

Progressive Learning

  • Problem: Students have problems coping with concepts because they have yet to master the basics! Basics are needed in order to understand advanced question types.

  • Solution: At Math Investigator, we ensure that students learn all pre-required concepts before exposing them to more advanced ones. This is done so through our Diagnostic Test and Customised Bridging Program.

Logic-focused

  • Each question focuses on a singular-thought process. This enables students to learn concepts without unnecessary complexity.

  • Application questions that involve multiple thought processes are introduced only after they have learnt these concepts.
